I was first introduced to Adobe Photoshop in 1997 and Adobe Premiere in 1998 as a young teenager in the 90s. The goal was to create a cover that should be "tough, electronic, urban, unique" and feature a "dramatic and cool" picture of the artist against a "possibly black background with dramatic lights" The challenge was that we didn't have a studio. So in order to get the "dramatic lights" from behind the talent, we took pictures against the sun outside. This way we wouldn't get realistic colors, but at least proper light from behind. After some cutting out in Photoshop, adding lights, ink textures and a unique, dramatic font, the cover was completed. The goal was to create a cover that should be both "lonely" and "beautiful/calming" for my own meditational lo-fi beats project: [Lovable Sounds](https://www.lovablesounds.com/) The challenge was that I can't draw to create a typical lo-fi artwork like the famous "lo-fi girl" image, I also didn't want to create a cover that looked too much like a hiphop design, nor like a cheesy Instagram quote. I combined a photo of the beautiful Norwegian nature around me on a foggy day, with just a touch of sun peeking through over the little islands in the Oslo fjord, with some bold large font that would be visible even when the cover is shown at a very small size. The goal was to create an "urban" cover that should be different than any cover art that the group had released before, to highlight the new "urban hiphop-pop" sound of the artist/group. The challenge was that this group is made of an ever changing group of singers/people and thus they wanted to have no photo of any person on the cover. I combined several photos of textures and posterized a stockphoto of a skyscraper to create a youthful, colorful, yet urban, dark and very different cover artwork. Das beste zuerst: Wir haben nach nun ca 10 schwierigen Jahren uns endlich ein eigenes (sehr) kleines Häuschen kaufen können. Welches wir nun renovieren (Dazu später mehr). Ich arbeite nachwievor sehr gerne als Live-Stream-Produzent bei der Gewerkschaft “Tekna” und gebe nebenan gelegentlich Kurse in Videoproduktion. Allerdings so zieht es mich und uns weiterhin zu kreativen Aufgaben und Ministry. Menschen helfen, inspirieren, ermutigen, anleiten ihre Gaben und Talente einzusetzen und daraus vielleicht etwas eigenes zu schaffen, was einem Spaß macht, Menschen hilft und Gott preist, das ist immer noch unser Traum. Vanessa mit Gemälden (und wenn sie bald mit ihrem Studium fertig ist auch mit funktionellem Gesundheitscoaching), ich mit Musik, Video, Webdesign und Kursen ... (Wir sehnen uns nach Gemeinschaft mit ähnlichen Menschen, falls du ein Prayerhouse / Ministry kennt, in dem wir uns einbringen könnten, bitte Bescheid sagen. Wir sind offen.) Das erste halbe Jahr lebten wir noch in “unserer” kleinen Hütte im Wald mit der fantastischen Aussicht – und teilweise eingeschneit, mit gefrorenem Trinkwasser. Speziell für Vanessa, die ja die meisten Tage zu Hause ist, konnte das ganz schön einsam werden. Ich muss ja oft zu Tekna ins Studio und Sendungen durchführen und habe dadurch Abwechslung. Unser altes Auto, ohne das wir ganz schön aufgeschmissen wären, kam im März als der Winter nochmal 1-2 Wochen zurückkam auf fast gerade Strecke mit Neuschnee und Glatteis ins Schleudern und wir haben uns 3 mal gedreht (nicht überschlagen) und wurden 2 mal in die Felswand geschlagen, wo wir dann auch zum stehen kamen. Polizei, Feuerwehr, Notarzt, Abschleppwagen. Außer Schock keine körperlichen Schäden gehabt, aber das Auto war nicht mehr Wert repariert zu werden. Da wir auf der Suche nach einem Haus waren, entschlossen wir uns kein Geld für ein neues Auto auszugeben  und mussten also 3-4 Monate ohne Auto im Wald leben. Wie man auf meinem Instagram Profil [@tobiasmichel](https://instagram.com/tobiasmichel) sehen kann, führte das zu vielen Spaziergängen durch den Wald zum nächsten Mini-Supermarkt (ca 25min Fußweg, damit also 1 bis 1,5h hin und zurück) und da wir ja Trinkwasser in großen 5l Flaschen herbeischaffen mußten, waren wir erfreut festzustellen, dass der Landkreis ca 10min Fussweg von uns gerade im Jahr zuvor eine “Trinkwasserstelle für Wohnmobile” eingerichtet hatte. Somit konnten wir uns dann einigermaßen zu Fuß versorgen, auch wenn es viel Geschleppe war. Ne kurze Tour zum Einkaufen weil man was vergessen hat war da nicht drin. So entschieden wir uns auf jeden Fall im Sommer umzuziehen und suchten weiter nach einer Wohnung oder Haus. Leider wurde hier die letzten zwei Jahre alles sehr viel teurer. Nesodden (die Halbinsel vor Oslo auf der wir wohnten) war der Landkreis mit höchsten Preiswachstum in ganz Norwegen, in den letzten 3-5 Jahren haben sich die Häuser hier im Durchschnitt verdoppelt im Preis. Die ländliche Lage am Meer und doch nur ca 1 Stunde von Oslo weg mit täglicher Bootfahrt zur Arbeit hat wohl für viele einen Reiz. Verständlicherweise :-) So entschlossen wir uns im Radius von 1-1,5h rund um Oslo überall zu suchen, zuerst tief im Landesinneren in der Nähe von einigen alten Bekannten von mir, doch wollten wir etwas mehr Stadt und Meer ... am Ende fanden wir ein Häuschen mit Garten mitten in «Fredrikstad». Eine kleine, große Stadt Richtung Schweden mit großer Festung und Altstadt direkt am Auslauf des «Glomma» Flusses ins Meer. Und somit haben wir jetzt ein süßes, kleines, ländliches Häuschen, ca 10min Spaziergang vom Bahnhof und Stadtzentrum und ca 5min vom Meer entfernt und haben tatsächlich das Beste aller Welten: Land, Stadt und Meer. Mein Arbeitsweg verlängerte sich auch nur von ca 1 Stunde 20 Minuten auf 1 Stunde 35 Minuten nach Oslo, weil ein Expresszug mich nach Oslo bringt. Der Vorteil ist, dass ich ca 1h und 10 Minuten davon im Zug am Laptop arbeiten kann und dies jetzt oft als Arbeitszeit angerechnet bekomme. Das ging vorher mit Waldspaziergang, Bus und Boot nicht. Wir hatten allerdings ja kein Auto und konnten nicht zur Hausbesichtigung kommen und erledigten diese nur per Videochat. Wir kauften also ein fast unbesichtetes Haus im Internet. Ja wir sind wohl ein bisschen crazy! Natürlich haben da Experten drübergekuckt und das  Haus hat keine Schäden, ist 100 Jahre alt, ca 79m2 klein, neues Dach, neue Fenster, neue Küche, neues Bad... also bleibt uns «nur» die Innenrenovierung..... Seit Ende August bin ich also ohne Erfahrung am Umbauen, aber mit Beistand unseres Freundes der sowohl Pastor als auch Zimmermann ist (Ernst, wie schon letztes Jahr erwähnt). Er leitet an, ich arbeite ein Paar Wochen und dann zeigt er mir den nächsten Schritt. Das ist zwar günstig, aber sehr Zeitaufwendig. Wir müssen das ganze Wohnzimmer und Obergeschoss von innen isolieren. Und das heißt die Wände bis auf die Außenwand aufreißen und auch den Boden zum kalten Keller rausreißen bis auf die Balken und alles neu isolieren. Vor 100 Jahren «isolierte» man in Norwegen Böden mit Lehm und Sägemehl. (Wovon ich jetzt geschätzt 1-2 Tonnen weggeschaufelt habe.) Wir feierten kein Weihnachten, auch nicht meinen 40.Geburtstag oder Neujahr sondern haben 2-3 Wochen «durchgeschafft» und es war fast entspannend Anfang Januar zur Abwechslung mal wieder ins Studio nach Oslo zu fahren zur Arbeit. Mittlerweile haben wir also wieder Fussboden und isolierte Wände, aber immernoch kein funktionierendes Wohnzimmer. Alles dauert länger als erwartet. Maurer mußte zweimal kommen, wenig Zeit für andere Sachen, daher also erst jetzt dieser Brief, während ich die letzten Gipsplatten anbringe… Mit diesen Zeilen und Bildern grüßen wir aus Norwegen und wünschen dir/euch ein gesegnetes 2023!
